(Author K. Jardine, Date 02/05/2021) ================================================================================ This file contains some data from the catalog described in "The 10 pc sample in the Gaia era", Reylé, Jardine et al, Astronomy & Astrophysics (2021) and adds some additional and roughly calculated values not appropriate for scientific use but which may be useful for visualization. Additional values: *HIP_G* G magnitude equivalent calculated from Hipparcos B-V and magnitude values when available using the formula g = -0.03704 + (-0.3915)*bv + (0.01855)*bv*bv +(-0.03239)*bv*bv*bv + hpmag *GLON* Galactic longitude *GLAT* Galactic latitude *DISTANCE* Rough distance calculated using the reciprocal of the parallax. This does not take into account the parallax error and is almost certainly not the most accurate possible value. Will replace it when better derived values become available. *MG* The absolute magnitude derived from the G magnitude and the distance estimate. This uses the G field when available, followed by the HIP_G value as computed using the formula given above, or the G_ESTIMATE field if the other two values are not available. *XG* The x value of the galactic cartesian coordinates. *YG* The y value of the galactic cartesian coordinates. *ZG* The z value of the galactic cartesian coordinates.
